The K.S.R.T.C chain service from Mallappally is turning out to be a great success. The tiring bus ride in Kozhencherry-Mallappally-Kottayam route seems to be over by the flooded K.S.R.T.C buses in this route. Per day collection is being recorded over Rs.65000. Earlier the route was dominated by the private bus operators until the chain service of K.S.R.T.C buses got inaugurated on June 14, 2008 by Hon’ble Transport Minister Sri. Mathew T Thomas.
K.S.R.T.C is incurring huge loss each day. They had changed there way of operations to minimize the income-expense which is huge at this stage. They are building large shopping malls and complexes in major K.S.R.T.C bus stations across Kerala. Buses are being called for tender unlike earlier method of buying directly.
The buses in this route are supposed to keep the ‘time’ and should not go for competition ending up with accidents. Accidents are more frequent in this route among the private buses operating here, while in a hurry to catch more people than its ‘competitor’. This competition may get more intense by the introduction of K.S.R.T.C buses. Government should make every necessary steps to make sure that the life of common man is taken care of.
Unfortunately few incidents were reported where some K.S.R.T.C workers faced attacks while in operation. The complain raised by the K.R.T.C workers is that these are planned by the private bus operators and police is not taking any actions against them.

Yes , this is a good starting for KSRTC in kottayam-kozhencherry route. There was a monopoly for private bus operators in this route and almost all permits were owned by champakara motors. They were not runing in time.
By starting the ksrtc chain service the passengers have the buses in time.
Congrats to the minister and MLA for initiating this.
All the best for the chain service
My heartiest congrats to our minister for Transport and our MLA for starting the chain services through Mallappally.
This Kottayam-Mallappally-Kozhancherry chain service is very helpful to all of us and are running profitably. But there is not a Diesel pump in Mallapppaly KSRTC sub depot. Now our buses are filling diesel from Kottayam & Thiruvalla depots. A diesel pump is very essential to our depot for its smooth functionig & regular services.
During the "Manarkadu Pally Ettu Nombu" period special services were operated from our depot and were successful.
Now the the Sabarimala Season is coming; a diesel pump is very much necessitated in our depot for operating bus services to pampa, erumeli etc. Moreover no buses from other depots except Thiruvalla depot are operating through mallappally.
By the opening of Thakazhy bridge, bus service from Ambalappuzha - Mallappally - Erumeli/Erattupettah/Kumali etc can be started. This will be very much helpful to our passengers
i think 7 or 8 buses are sufficient to control the over flooding in the private buses. This much ksrtc buses leads to the stopping of private bus services.ksrtc does not ensure any guarantee for their service. The minister playing cheap politics tricks againinst chamapakara motors.the real flooding was in Ranny-Thiruvalla route.why ksrtc not starting chain service in that route.
the ksrtc service cause to the competition between private buses and ksrtc,i think the ksrtc will start only a 7 or 8 services in this route, the government play cheap politics aganist champakara motors
